چکیده

Multipath time-delay estimation is commonly encountered in radar and sonar signal processing. In some real-life environments, impulse noise ubiquitous significantly degrades performance. Here, we propose a Bayesian approach to tailor the Compressive Sensing (BCS) mitigate impulsive noises. particular, heavy-tail Laplacian distribution used as statistical model for noise, while prior sparse multipath modeling. The learning problem contains hyperparameters parameter estimation, solved under BCS inference framework. performance of our proposed method compared with benchmark methods, including compressive sensing (CS), BCS, Laplacian-prior (L-BCS). simulation results show that can estimate parameters more accurately have lower root mean squared error (RMSE) intensely noise.

Multipath time-delay estimation

A transmitted and known signal is observed at the receiver through more than one path in additive noise. The problem is to estimate the number of paths and for each of them the associated attenuation and delay. It is a frequent problem in sonar, radar and geophysics. We propose an algorithm that is easy to implement, that has a reasonable computational load and seems to be able to solve the pro...

Joint Channel and Impulsive Noise Estimation using Compressive Sensing for Powerline Communications

Channel estimation in conjunction with impulsive noise (IN) mitigation using compressive sensing is proposed for OFDM based power line communication (PLC) systems. Compressive sensing (CS) based IN mitigation algorithms use silent-pilots (or zero-subcarriers) to estimate and cancel the IN at receiver. To estimate the channel and IN jointly, non-zero pilots have to be used. However, the usage of...

Sub-optimal Estimation of HIV Time-delay Model using State-Dependent Impulsive Observer with Time-varying Impulse Interval: Application to Continuous-time and Impulsive Inputs

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) weakens the immune system in confronting various diseases by attacking to CD4+T cells. In modeling HIV behavior, the number of CD4+T cells is considered as the output. But, continuous-time measurement of these cells is not possible in practice, and the measurement is only available at variable intervals that are several times bigger than sampling time. In this...

Compressive Sensing for Sparse Time-Frequency Representation of Nonstationary Signals in the Presence of Impulsive Noise

A modified robust two-dimensional compressive sensing algorithm for reconstruction of sparse time-frequency representation (TFR) is proposed. The ambiguity function domain is assumed to be the domain of observations. The twodimensional Fourier bases are used to linearly relate the observations to the sparse TFR, in lieu of the Wigner distribution. We assume that a set of available samples in th...

Alpha-Stable Modeling of Noise and Robust Time-Delay Estimation in the Presence of Impulsive Noise

A new representation of audio noise signals is proposed, based on symmetric -stable (S S) distributions in order to better model the outliers that exist in real signals. This representation addresses a shortcoming of the Gaussian model, namely, the fact that it is not well suited for describing signals with impulsive behavior. The -stable and Gaussian methods are used to model measured noise si...
